Acumen Alliance is a boutique human resource and business excellence consultancy business based in Perth, Western Australia.
Acumen Alliance is led by Robyn Davis and Peter Kent – experienced consultants and business professionals all with over 30-years’ experience in public and private sector commercial businesses.
We are recognised professionals who are able to consider situations from a strategic, tactical and/or operational viewpoint, and facilitate and develop pragmatic options and result focused solutions. We have a track record of completing our assignments on time and to the satisfaction of our clients. We seek to ensure that we understand the deliverable that the client is looking for and provide clarity in terms of how we will achieve the desired outcome.
We do not work alone. Our success comes from engaging and working alongside our clients and their staff. Because of our backgrounds we are able to relate to all levels of staff within an organisation, from the Board chairperson, to the CEO to the administration staff at the front desk or the gardener attending the landscape.
Robyn Davis
Robyn is the Director of Gent Consulting Group, a consulting group that she commenced in 1995 and a Director of Acumen Alliance.
Since 1995 Robyn has consulted across numerous agencies in the WA Public Sector, has worked with Commonwealth and local government organisations and with the private sector.
Consultancy assignments undertaken by Robyn have covered all facets of human resource management from strategic planning, award restructuring and the development of industrial agreements, policy development and implementation, restructuring, classification management, development of job descriptions, recruitment and mentoring.
Robyn has also been involved in the development of CEO Performance Agreements and the Review of CEOs’ Performance.
Prior to commencing her consultancy business, Robyn was the Director, Human Resources at Main Roads.
Robyn has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Psychology) and an Associate Diploma in Personnel Administration.

Peter Kent
Peter is the proprietor of Synergy, a consultancy group he commenced in 2003, which trades as building better organisations. Peter is also a Director of Acumen Alliance.
building better organisations is a small and successful business which has a range of both private and government clients. The business provides strong management advice across a range of issues such as strategic and business planning, organisational development, change management, human resource management, information technology and financial management.
Prior to commencing his consultancy business, Peter was the Director, Business Development and Integration with the Department of Environment.
Peter has worked for 33 years in the WA Public Sector and in addition to the position of Director, Business Development and Integration Peter held various other executive roles including Director Corporate Services with the Department of Environmental Protection.
Peter holds a Master of Business (HRM) from Curtin University and is a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute.
